I was so delighted and proud to be asked to appear in a recent edition of Woman's Way magazine (Issue 23 - November 7th 2022). Niamh O'Reilly did a fantastic job of putting my top tips into print so I thought it would make perfect content for my first blog post. Enjoy.

Hazel's top home organisation tips;
The easiest way to declutter is to reduce what you have.
Start small. Re-order that one drawer that's full of junk. Take it all out, decide what needs to stay and what goes back in.
Identify zones and keep categories together. Make decisions about where things go, so that it flows easily.
If doing a bigger job, get everything together. If you are tackling shoes, get all your shoes together from all over the house. When you see what you have, its easier to make decisions and categorise.
Follow the 12-month rule, if you haven't worn it in that time frame, donate it.
Try and stick to 'one in one out'. When you buy a new dress, for example, get rid of one and donate it, otherwise you are just adding to the problem.
Folding is so important. We have a tendency to fire things into a drawer and just close it. We think 'that's done', but actually using clever folding techniques is the key to maximising space.
Store your shoes with one facing in and one facing out. It is a great space saver.
Do the bigger jobs with the family. Get the other half or the kids to help reset the kitchen; it's a full-on job.
